Lovely 190d early sighting

I saw a lovely black 61 or 62 190d today. It looked fairly original except it appeared to have been painted. tan interior, white steering wheel ...stick.

I left a note saying I had a 62 190c back in the day.....

My car had the fender turn signal lights and this one did too.

Now just leave home and someone else will be answering the phone while you are gone. My mother just told the caller that I did not want a car that old in any case.

Took me days to re locate the lady seller. . Thirty nine ford deluxe two door sedan for 125.00 that never went anywhere or was driven in the winter. You did leave your phone number? In my case this was many, many years ago.

Those earlier diesels now seem to be creeping up in value if in good condition and lower milage.Once in awhle some people cannot find anyone interested in an older car and just want to basically get rid of it. Our younger members should be aware that not asking is a poor option.

No, I did not offer to buy. I just wanted to tell them how much I liked it and offer the chance for them to call me if they wanted to talk about it.

It brought back some memories. Some good some not so good. I remember the 190 was always vibrating something loose! Tightening bolts was a continuing ritual with it.

I loved the way it rode and drove.
