Aux Fan making noise

The Aux Fan (electric fan in front of radiator) on the 1984 300D is making some strange sounds (grinding, whirring, just plain noisy!). Can the aux fan be lubricated? If so, where and how should it be lubricated? thanks!

It's probably time for a new shaft bearing.

It appears it is time to source a new SKF-6001-2RSH bearing and a pop rivet tool to complete the job. Thanks for the link, it is a great source of information!

You could use a tap and machine screws instead of pop rivets.
