exhaust ambivalence

My 300TD with 335k is in need of both a center and a rear exhaust. I am trying to decide whether to order a new system from here and drop $250 bucks or go to my local muffler shop and get both replaced with generic equivalents for half the price.
I know I want the car to remain quiet, so I think I will replace both mufflers, but if I do it with standard issue muffler shop mufflers will I lose out on power?
My understanding is that the factory mufflers are very low back pressure. does anyone know if the resonator (center muffler) is different from a standard muffler?
At this time my rear muffler is aftermarket and my center muffler is factory. I am amazed that the center muffler lasted this long.

You can probably get the center pipe with resonator from autopartswarehouse. Ansal or Bosal brand for about $130ish. I just got one for mine, but nobody makes the front pipe for mine anymore If you want to go first class (stainless steel) $$$ Timevalve.com
