I've tried all I know to do
1984 300d. Been fooling with this thing on/off for about 7 years and finally have time and other resources to really get moving on. Current problem(s):
1. Can not get a steady idle above 7-800 rpms. I can run the engine up to 2-3000 RPMs but engine will not maintain that count. Engine RPMs either increase rapidly or drops; can not maintain an even idle. Idle works fine as long as throttle isn't increased. 2. On-going issue. Lack of power starting out or uphill. Have removed/cleaned fuel tank, replaced all filters, cleaned pump and injectors, cleaned banjo bolts: What else can I do or is there I something I haven't checked into? |

You've probably had a valve adjustment recently as well, yes?

To get it to run steadily with no load at say 2000, you'll need to bring the revs up over about a ten second period. Otherwise the governor is too spastic.
your lack of power below ~2000 sound like ALDA wear, requiring a simple adjustment.
