Clutch rod?
Anybody got a clutch rod from an early w123?
I need the bit that connects the clutch pedal to the clutch MC. I replaced the clutch MC and not realizing the little rod isn't actually attached to the MC threw away the original 1978 version and installed the later 1983 version from my parts car. The older type is a straight rod down to a beveled (might be rounded I don't remember now) end. The later version has a beanie on the end. The older type is shorter than the newer, not a lot but enough that the clutch engagement on my car is VERY high on the pedal. I could grind the beanie off the one I have I suppose but that'd be a trial and error kind of effort and I'd like to just buy one if one could be found...

No personal experience, but I've read on here that there's an eccentric bolt in the system that adjusts the length of that rod. Others might be able to confirm that.

Yep, there's an eccentric bolt, but it doesn't make up the difference in length between the old style and new style push rods. The difference between the two styles of rod is about 7mm. I got two of the shorter style rods from the junkyard and paid a local welder to fabricate a piece of the correct length out of the two. It's been working since Thanksgiving '10.

New clutch masters do not come with that rod. You can buy the rod. Contact Phil via FastLane

Yeah the eccentric is just there to adjust the drain back out of the MC so it can self bleed.
I tried another distributor and ended up with another new type rod, apparently the old type is NLA.

I've got one I don't need. The earlier one with the white nylon end.
PM me and I'll drop it in the mail for a few bucks.

Ping!
@steveo, bad grammar on my part, I wrote the way I talk. The eccentric is there to adjust the drain, so the air can get back out of the MC and it can self bleed. Makes more sense? In actuality I'm not 100% sure its required, I got the thing bled without adjusting the eccentric.
