190d tranny swap which one help
Hi everyone I'm looking to take out my Tranny on my 1985 190 d I'm at the scrap yard with posible donors 1986 190 e 2.3 cleen 80,000 miles or a 82 300 s d or 90 300 e. which one is the best match? do I need to get the torque converter as well? good thoughts appreciate it thank you all in advance I need to start pulling 1 a sap

82 SD is definitely out. IIRC 86 190E and 90 300E have second gear start which will be a miserable situation in a 190D. Other factors might add to the misery such as needing to shorten or lengthen the drive shaft and incorrect shift points (gassers rev to 6000+ rpm, Diesels shift at about 4800 rpm). Keep looking for a 190D tranny.

Thanks! Sixtieth Been looking now for 3 months If I usethe 190d modulator and Bowden cable will that help?

Pulled the tranny from the 85 190e 2.3 (only damage to me busted lip wrench slipped my girl thought I got beat up loll) can I use the kick down and bowden cable and torque converter from this car? Can I use my modulater from my 2.2
