Search is inconclusive: Vacuum reservoir grommet

I always find a hell of a lot of info that I get distracted with when I use the search function, but this time I'd like to be a bit quicker. Will anyone point me to the section of either store here that has the vacuum reservoir grommet? I have looked in quite a few places without success.

Are you talking about the brake booster reservoir? That has an o-ring. The egg crate reservoir has a grommet of sorts. What happened to yours? Mine is so firmly attached that it come out when i tried. Unless it is mutilated, the grommet never goes bad. You can test it with a MityVac.

It's something in the vacuum reservoir line or the grommet on the vacuum reservoir, or maybe the tank itself. I've isolated it to that point with my MityVac, and blocked it so that I only lose the auto lock function when the car isn't running, everything else is working properly (shutoff, shifting, brakes and the rest of the system holds a vacuum), but it could be somewhere in the line. I'm just hoping that it's not, so I'm starting with the easier parts first. But I can't find a grommet.

I believe he is referring to the grommet on the line into the reservoir for the door lock vacuum.

This seal was all I needed to tighten up the vacuum system on the '85 (after replacing all the rubber vacuum connectors and dashpots under the hood), so don't overlook this when trouble-shooting lock/engine shutoff problems. Use your MityVac and a good diagram.
