I wonder if they are using the correct oil and filters? and G-05 coolant? Charlie

That's amazing. Great video Charlie. All those Euros!
There is atleast 135 123's in there, I counted. At 1:05 there is a green one that looks like it matches my 240 but it has a black top. Kind of cool looking. Something different.

Wow at least 136 cars. That would be amazing.... At least in our parts. Over there on the other hand would a normal sight.... Like seeing a bunch of Chevy Malibu's in an Avis Rent a car parking lot.
Charlie, you must of subliminally stopped at 126 since it's the highest chassis number you have. I think you need a 140, 210, 211 etc so you can count little higher.

Ive seen that first hand - they mostly use turkish made parts and filters and use the regular green coolant at 30% dilution or even plain water.

That's incredible. I expected to see at least one Peugeot diesel in there, but nothing but w123s everywhere. Even the non-taxis.
I saw a Lonely Planet travel episode on Tehran a few years back. There were Fintails in the taxi rank. And the private car the reporter hired to visit some historic sites outside of town was I am pretty certain a Finnnie (they only shot inside the car).

Did anyone spy the brake light mod done to the taxi at 1:40?

A single cabbie in all of that driving a 300SDL instead of a w123 would get my business and get double the fare, simply for having a back seat that an actual, real, live, human being could fit into.
That's always puzzled me about cab use of that body style. Surely not all cab customers are 4'6" tall with detachable legs? I've got a w123 and a first gen w126 and with anybody remotely normal-sized in the front seats, I can't manage to cram into the back even if it were the last car leaving a nuclear disaster. My second gen w126 has enough room to sit comfortably back there even with the front seats all the way back (where mine are, in every car, all the time) but the others.... they just simply don't have the room unless the people up front are short. |

I was in Hong Kong back in the 60`s when I was in the Navy, and the Taxi`s then were Pontons. think they were maroon with creme fenders. this was about 63 - 66, was there several times, longest was 21 days.
I remember going by this shop/garage, and this chinaman was squatted down on the dirt floor, working on an engine scattered around on the floor. the MB taxi was there with the hood up. They drive fast, and blow the horn, better get out of their way. Charlie
