Help in West Michigan?

I've got a small slew of problems (climate control, cruise control, bad seat) on a 1982 300TD wagon, mileage either 150k or unknown. I could use some experienced help with it. I have a heated/AC garage with a lift and beer fridge, and lots of tools.

Anybody interested in helping and geeking out on cars for an afternoon?

You're diving right into the complex stuff to fix. Generally issues with the cruse are failed controller amps/failed servo's....there's not much more to it than that. Climate issues are generally vacuum related (if air going to wrong places) or failed climate control unit if things are not working properly at all. Not a whole lot you can do for a real bad seat....I just replaced mine with better ones from a parts car when mine were bad...... Is this new wagon of yours dark blue by chance? There was a real nice one for sale a couple years ago around here........in the downtown area. I almost never see any W123's around here. Maybe 2 in a week if I am lucky.

What is wrong with the seat? If it is a broken seat bottom (springs), the first generation W126 is the same spring box. find a passenger seat with good springs, and use the seat bottom. your seats MB Tex will fit.

If the MB Tex is still good, but the tuck n roll is getting flat, what happens is the cloth backing starts to deteriorate. take the cover to a auto uhpostery shop and have them sew it back together. should look good as new. be sure to hot glue the strips to the front edge of the seat, or they slide back leaving the hollows in the tuck n roll. or the shop can fix that problem.

A seat from PNP with electric tracks is about $45, and a manual is $30. take pictures of how the manual seat track comes apart, so you have a how to on putting back together.

Beer? with enought of it, who cares how it goes together?

There is a 50% sale coming up this coming week end at PNP
