w123 sls pump relocation or substitution options and ideas

Basic idea is to find an alternative sls pump solution to be used during replacement of engines in our beloved 300TD wagons with non wagon engines. SLS delete and conversion to springs/shocks or airbags is not an option for this discussion. Some ideas have been floated around but I want to dedicate a thread to brainstorming this subject. Please flow with the ideas... Purists beware it might get ugly

some options being kicked around:

1. swap heads from wagon to non wagon bottom ends
2. good sedan complete engine with w124 ps/sls pump installed
3. electric hydraulic pump mounted in engine bay or in rear of wagon
4. find another spot on the sedan engine to mount the exisiting wagon sls pump
5. run another belt driven pump of some sort from whatever ??
6. tee off of w123 power steering pump, add larger ps fluid reservoir, will the sls work with ps fluid? I know it's not designed for it, but will it work.

check out this thread post number 14

someome teed into the power steering pump lines....how about going with this setup but improving it with a large power sterring overflow? to provide more fluid than what the power steering pump reservoir can hold?

I vote #1 : get a wagon head and use the MB pump. I know its boring, but after opening up a couple of the pumps for complete resealing... they cannot be beat. Simple design, no electrical dependency, no time consuming modification / fabrication. ...and its about time for a new headgasket anyway.

Both of your links do not work. Not sure why.

Here is the first one.

Since you are asking, I would go with #1.

I know of 2 wagon heads in the Yards right now.
