Wagon headrests

I've been searching hopelessly for a set of wagon headrest hardware and decided to call the dealer.

My usual parts guy wasn't there so I got the normal customer price....

Hardware: A123 970 0300 $411

And the guy let me know nicely that it has to come from Germany and that there are only 11 left.

1) Did I get the wrong part number off of EPC?
2) Did he write it down wrong?
3) Are these parts really that valuable? Or is MB really trying to make their money on this one?

So if anyone knows of any hardware in a PnP around you please let me know. I've never seen a w123 wagon around my parts.

not only the price, but likely even if you wanted to order it you could not since it was not sold in the US. In 5 years of PnP searching ive seen 2 w123's with rear rests. I assume these are the same as the wagons.

Ok if I am reading this right you want to put rear headrests into your 300d (sedan)? Your mention of the wagon hardware may be confusing people who don't read your sig....

Interior replacement stuff is always expensive from dealers, in my experience, regardless of the make. Why? Most of it is sold for insurance claims. Anything for insurance traffic gets big markup.

The rear sedan headrests are not the same as the wagon. I recently had a 'WTB" ad in our swapshop section, for sedan rear headrests, and was informed that you can interchange the rear headrests from a w126 (not the seat, obviously, just the headrests and hardware). However it was only later-model w126s that got rear headrests in the North American market, so you may have issues on interior material/colour matching.

You could try posting a WTB and see what happens. It won't interfere with me, as a complete rear seat with headrests, in the right colour, turned up at the local all-make pickn'pull (which has all of three Mercedes in stock... go figure the chances of that).

In reading the archive posts it seems the sedan headrests have bent supports and the wagons have the same headrests in both rows.

I'm looking for the hardware for the wagon second row headrests. I've already got a lead on the headrests.

I'm in the process of buying a wagon with a third row so I need the wagon hardware. I don't know if there is much difference between the wagon hardware and the sedan, I'll look on EPC to see.

I see them from time to time in the yards- there may even be a set there now. I cut one apart and I think you can add the headrests to a non headrest seat but not sure.

The hardware for the sedan rear headrest hardware was $60 apiece (set), this was a few years (4-5?) ago. $120 out the door and 2 W123 + W126 PnP headrests later (combination required for sedan/coupe W123 rear headrests), they're in.

YES! Please do. I need all three for the wagon second bench.

If it's possible could you cut them out so I have all the hardware and know what order everything is put in?

Here is the picture of what I need.

No I never got any.

Although I'm tinkering with the headrests and mounting hardware for a w124 wagon. I'm trying to see if I can use them on the w123 wagon.

If you know of any w123 wagon hardware LET ME KNOW!
