ADAL banjo bolt, washers, and fitting for trans adjustment?
Does anyone know the thread size and pitch for the banjo bolt that is needed for the Transmission Vacuum Modulator Adjustment procedure?
I cant find a car that would have one in the junk yards around here and i have been looking for sometime. It would be so awesome if i could get my car shifting perfectly for daily driving! By the way, to avoid confusing anyone, i have a 722.xxx trans in my 300d. I cant remember specifically which one, but it is vacuum controlled rather than the earlier kick down bar control. I can post pics of how i rigged up the VCV if anyone wants to see that. The car had the trans in it when i bought it. There were no trans controls what so ever either. thanks

Actually, I "borrowed" the ALDA bolt and banjo bolt, temporarily, then cleaned and reinstalled it when I finished the procedure. I'm not sure if your car has the same set up.

No such luck. I have no ALDA on my engine. Although that is a good idea.

Without trying to confuse or persuade you, it is my personal experience that setting the factory pressure in this method is mostly a waste of time.
I have had excellent results by setting all the linkages, vacuum valve settings, TV cable setting first to factory spec. Then adjusting the modulator by feel in a trial and error mode along with the linkage / TV cable setting. Factory vacuum settings and a healthy vacuum system are the first step and should not change. |
