A note for the chainge fuel filter, no start 87 300d's
I changed my fuel filters last night and in the process lost alot of diesel on the ground. However I was able to get the car started after 4 starts.
For those that are having problems you may want to try lifting the rear of the car in the air (down hill slope) to try starting. I believe this helped alleviate any problems I could have had. Just my 2 cents.

yeah they will leak fuel at decent rate when on slight incline. Dont ask how I know But you can use to your advantage to prime the macro filter. I primed the micro by pouring fuel in it. I think it helps.
this is me doing the diesel purge and filter change. Note the kitty litter that is soaking up the spill...the scented kind is the best |

In a pinch pretty much anything works. Dirt, cow manure, lawn clippings....
