Turbo seals

I am having a heck of a time getting my aircleaner back on the tube going to the turbo with my new seal. I have tried oil and soap to help but still cant seem to get the tube back on once I have put the new seal in. What is the secret?

Is it just not going on or is it going on some and sliding back off?

I think it is possible that the Plastic Housing ID Shrinks with age or the new Seal is slighty thicker.

If it is not going on you might take a fine File and make sure all of the sharp edges where the Rubber slides over are smooth and STP (the generic version is OK) might work.

Next best to the STP might be the Brake Caliper Piston lube.

I have read of people using Silicone Lubricant Spray on Rubber.

I just cant get it to go on. There is a grove in the seal and a ring on the air filter housing, and it just won't go past that spot no mater how hard I push or what choice words I say.

i have to do this procedure soon, and am anticipating a struggle. i plan on using some sil-glyde when installing the boot/rubber on to the air cleaner and turbo.

Thanks, going to try that as soon as I get home. Seems so simple. One more rather emabrrasing question> just what is an alda and where is it located.

If you have not done it this way try putting the Rubber Sleeve on the Air Filter Housing and slide the Plastic Tubing over it.
