Bumper Reset
How do I reset the bumpers on an 85 TD wagon. My buddy's wagon has the bumpers pushed all the way in and the pistons need to be reset. Has anyone tried this?

Not too sure on this, but if the bumper does not come out on its own, either the shock is broken, or there is some kind of collateral damage to the mount keeping it in. On my 240D and 350SD, they come out after taking a pretty good shot all on their own. In one case the 240D took a shot at an angle from the rear, and bent the mounting hardware on the passenger side. It took a new shock assembly to get that one back into position, as well as some manual labor to straighten the mounting surface back out. I would take the old bumper shock assemblies off and see what is holding them up. Hope this helps, Jim
