My New Parts Car!
Just picked up a 1991 300D 2.5T with 208,000 miles as a parts car. Really well taken care of, in great condition, only one problem (and it's a big one): the right front spring perch is all rusted out and the part of the car has dropped. That's why the guy sold it for as little as he did.
Since I already have two of these as daily drivers, this will be a great source for parts. Plus it will help me to work on my repair skills with no downside risk (like a medical student working on a cadaver). It's a shame, though....this thing is nice enough that it needs to be on the road. Wonder what it would cost to fix??
