CLK light weights with spacers in the rear?

I hate how far sunk in the stock 14's with offset of 30mm are, especially in the rear. I bought some CLK lightweights, they are 16x7 ET 37mm.

Has anyone run clk lightweights with some thick spacers in the rear? I'm thinking like 25mm maybe...

I'm already going to run 5mm in the front to clear the center caps, and tie rods.

The car will be on lowering springs, so I will most likely need to roll the fenders as well.

Oh and do not give me the "spacers are unsafe speech" I only run hub centric spacers, with proper length lug bolts.

LOL no speeches from me.

I have a complete set of spacers for sale, just had not got around to posting the ad in the swap shop.

I had bought CLK wheels last fall, then ended up buying Panzzer's euro OEM 14-inch BBS-style w123 coupe wheels this summer so the spacers are just gathering dust (never got around to putting them on).

PM me if you're interested. They are the real thing, from a German tuner.

I have CLK's on my TE right now. I have never had them on a W123. But they get lots of compliments and aren't too bad to clean. You will want to go to ceramic pads, at least in the front, at some point.... the brake dust is killer. Only thing I do not like about them is how anal I get when parking.. I try VERY hard not to make contact with any curbs with my wheels.

Some tires come with a rim protector. They have a ridge of rubber that extends beyond the wheel's rim to minimize the risk of curb rash. The Bridgestone RE-730 tires the PO had on the CLK wheels I bought from him had such a protector. Ho-hum tire, otherwise.

Same wheels on my 124 sedan. I'm running a 10mm spacer on the rear. I planned on running them on the front as well but did not need them.

Neither the front nor rear needs spacers- you can run the rims in the front using this method- see post #13. The rear ought to clear easily with 16X7 et 37. I have a set of CLK and SLK staggered which both fit using this easy method. Center caps don't fit exactly, but they do stay on. You can always go to the yards and get a extra set of caps and flatten them to allow the caps to fit flush- but that's not true MB style.

I already have ceramic pads front and rear.

I already have 5mm spacers for the front. I think I am going to buy some 25mm's with extended bolts from RadUSA. Only $129 for the setup.

I know. I like the looks of flush wheel fitment in the rear.
