W123 First Aid box colors

Does anyone know if the First Aid kit box should be black in a car with the blue interior? The box was missing the lid in my 300D an I found a nice black one in a car with the blue interior in the junkyard.

My 84 300d has a navy interior, and the first aid box is navy as well! it is definitely original, so I assume that they are suppose to match the interior.

I had a white one in my navy interior 82 300TD. But my black interior 240D has a black one. I've only seen white and black boxes. The lid for the box that hold the first aid kit matches the interior.

My 80 240D has a white box, and we have the tan interior.
