300sd window regulator problem?

earlier today i put the rear left rear window down and it made a loud pop and the window would slide up and down by hand but not move at all with the switch. I left it up by hand and drove home, then I tried the switch again becasue i wanted to see if i could hear the motor when i pressed the switch, but the window went back up and stayed there, now it wont just slide down anymore. Any idea what broke? If it will stay that way i may just leave it, but otherwise i will go get whaever part broke from the junkyard and replace it.

W126 regulator issue

81 82 83-91 Mercedes W126 Body Type Window Regulator LR | eBay

The link above is a listing I found on Ebay(not mine) with a picture of the left rear regulator. Hard to say what that pop was without actually inspecting this part.
It is possible the window motor skipped, broke, or stripped one or more gear teeth. That might be the pop you heard. Moving the window up by hand may have aligned the teeth so the motor gear made contact again to operate the window. It is likely that your motor works fine since it did move the window and did not blow out a fuse.
If the fuse did blow, then your right front window would not work either.
Right front and left rear window motors are on the same circuit.
Another possibility could be the plastic guide may have worn out and popped off the regulator arm.

Arms of the regulator bend & stick, gear that connects to regulator pops a tooth, etc. Remove door trim and inspect.

I've also had nothing broken or bent, but had some of the bolts come out, and the regulator binds crooked...
