Manual window regulator problem

I installed a new manual window regulator in the front passenger window of my '82 240D. When I roll the window up, the cross piece that the scissor pieces attach to in Pic 1 bends down on the left side (i.e. the left side is lower than the right - it's supposed to stay level) causing the glass to tilt forward as seen in Pic 2. The glass is riding between the felt and the plastic slider piece is installed in the guide rail. Any ideas as to what's causing this?

Thanks,

Scott

It appears that the connecting rod to the vacuum lock actuator has a bend in it. I donīt remember seeing this the last time I had a door panel off. It also appears that at least one screw that attaches the actuator to the door is loose. This may or may not be the problem.

The actuator is disconnected on purpose. It doesn't affect the window's operation.

Thanks,

Scott
