95 E300 Instrument cluster

Is there anyway That I can retrofit a 1993 300e instrument cluster to work on a 1995 e300D? I see that the glowplug light is not on it plus the fuel gas says unleaded fuel only. The temp gauge on mine gets stuck and the oil pressure stays at the upper most level and the outside temp is blackened.

I'm sure it could be done, but there would probably be some wiring changes that would have to be made. You will need a good wiring diagram for both cars in order to figure it out.

I am an electrical guy, but personally I wouldn't do this unless the donor instrument cluster was just absolutely all that was available.

Best of luck with it.

My $0.02,
Larry

Just swap the individual gauges, It's really easy. I've done clocks, fuel and temp and tac--I can't remember if you'll need to solder at all, but either way, it's super easy.

The cluster comes apart very nicely, you can clean all the dust out while it's apart. the hands pull off gently and go back on the same. small screws hold each gage and the contacts, aside from the clock are all screws.

Take digital pictures if you're concerned about reassembly.
