Cool original owner goes above and beyond
I bought ny 240D from owner number 3 who gave me all his receipts among them he had a print out of old email exchange he had with the original owner. In this email the OO said he may have service records in storage on the oposite side of the country from where he lives now.
Back in April I sent him an email intorducing myself as the cars new owner and admitting to the, as my wife would say, unhealthy attraction I had for the car. I also told him like the PO I would love to have old service records. 6 months having passed I had all but forgoten about this but this morning I received this email: Hello Bill, I returned to Oregon this week for a visit (from my home in xxx, North Carolina), so I was finally able to go out to the storage unit I'm renting space in to look for the Mercedes repair records. And SUCCESS! I didn't throw them out after all (like I feared I might have) so I'm ready to ship them off to you if you'll give me your address in Vista. It's quite a large sheaf of papers. All my best, Wes Pretty cool! funny coincidence I was in Oregon last week as well.
