Recycling Diesel Fuel

Hi, geniuses. I recently bought an '85 300TD and have had a lot of fun getting her in shape. The PO ran WVO through a single-tank Lovecraft system which I just removed and replaced with a stock fuel system. Thus begins my long journey to clean out the fuel system... I think there might still be some veggie left in the tank and I definitely have an algae problem. I want to drain the tank and clean out the crud with some Startron... what do I do with the dirty diesel once it's been drained? Can I bring it to the local lube place to recycle like I do with engine oil & ATF?
thanks!

PS I live in NYC so I don't have a local recycling center as an option

add some used engine oil to it and give it to the recycler.

You can also find a shop that has a waste oil heater and mix it with some oil and take it to them to keep them warm this winter.

If you want to use the fuel, instead of trashing it.
I suggest a racor diesel filter water separator and 12v diesel transfer pump.

Follow up: I put an ad on craigslist and a veggie enthusiast came by and happily picked up the former contents of my tank.
