What do I need to buy as spares?

I'm having a great time enjoying my new 240d here on PEI - this car is such a pleasure to drive ..... I can feel the urge to buy another one coming on!!! (it was -12 C here all day the MB started right up) Sorry for the blabbering......... but as you can see this is just good clean fun!!

My question is what do I need to keep around the house as spare parts for my 240d? I'm planning to stockpile extra air/oil/fuel filters at home. Is there anything else I should keep on hand? Locally parts are not available & have to be order or brought in from another province. So being a former boy scout, I want to be prepared!! :p

Thanks

Aivars

Tranny Filter and you may want to stock up on some good additive (RedLine or PowerService). BTW, is this the car that was for sale on Long Island?

These guys all had excellent items listed, so I'll consolidate them into this one post:

-Fuses
-Belts
-Hoses
-Filters
-Air filter housing mounts
-Red Line Diesel Fuel Catalyst
-Extra oil
-Coolant
-ATF
-Vacuum line
-Injector return line
-Windshield washer fluid and MB "VR922" additive
-Can of Mercedes-Benz "Gleitpaste" (sunroof grease--works well for lubricating throttle linkage)
-Shift linkage bushings
-Valve cover gasket
-Water pump (they're cheap)
-Thermostat
-Differential oil (SAE 80W-90)

That oughtta cover it. Anything else you think of, just add it to the list and make a visit to your local MB dealer!

Good list so far, but to be more specific about fuses, you need to keep a few of the bar fuses that go in the glow plug relay. They rarely fail, but when they do, you'll be glad you have one. They will crack from vibration and be almost unnoticable to the naked eye.

Good luck,
