2 AC Center vents slider lever

The slider lever underneath the 2 center vents on my 84 EURO version 300D does not work. I went thru the glove compartment to access, however, I found out the lever is not connected..tried to find where it connects to, to no avail. Does anyone know how to repair this and what it involves. Thanks for any help and Happy Motoring.

It connects to a plastic arm that comes through the rubber boot behind the lever.

Center Vent Forced Open

As long as you were in there (behind the dash) you could force the vent open and prop it open. Then you could open or close the round vent doors on the outer dash to modulate the flow.

I remember taking the vents out when my dash was out but don't remember whether they came out the front or back. There is a tab on both sides of the vent that holds the vent in. The shut off arm is connected with a screw.

Question center vents

well, while I was in there...I discovered later when trying to shut off the engine..it wouldn't shutoff...I also found out the reason is because one of the vacuum lines was disconnected. I put a golf tee in the line that was causing it and now the engine shuts off...but I need to know where the PURPLE line inside the cabin terminates...so I can re-connect it...anyone know...Thanks for any help....Happy Motoring !!!

usaf 1 has a Euro model 300D, probably like the 240D manual set up, very simple.
If the center vents are proped open, then you will get constant cool air from them. at least my experience with the 240D.
