Blower issues 1981 300sd

I have yet to test my pods, but figure something is up with them to begin with..

The issue is that when the key is turned(wait for glow plugs), air blows out of defrost, with any button pushed, hence the pod issue I already accounted for..

As soon as I turn the key and it fires up, the blowing air disappears. nothing.. maybe a little seeping air out of the defrost, but nothing like what was blowing hard before I started the car...

I've read through, and searched, but it feels like I have not found the grail of info..
most everything I read people have great air going through defrost at least... I don't even have that much!

Anyone have an idea of where to start!?!

Thats weird,I would suspect blower is hot wired.Or heating unit in dash is defective. The latter can be replaced look on Ebay.Mine was defective and smoked when I used it,so I replaced with a good one.

You generally start with the year and model of the vehicle.

Here's the thing. When I turn the key, let the glow plugs heat, air blows hard out the defrost. After driving the car, and found the same, the heat will be hot. Is this still a heating unit?? Since it does heat.. just not when I want it to...

Found solution.
car has ignition controls, putting 12v out at different key positions.
Acc is first dash on key turn. Second is starter output.
Fiddled with key shutting it down today and it seemed to be getting stuck in the starter position.
Like I mentioned, the heater turned on while key is in first position, acc mode, and shuts off during start..
So I turn the key just a smidge back, and wow! Full blown air out every vent! Hot air out each vent! Shut the vents, opened em. Great air!
Now to get this key to not stick...
