Question about 'diagonal' motor mount for my 300SD

I just ordered some motor mounts for my 1983 300SD, and the supplier gave me one incorrect one.... It looks identical to the correct motor mount, except that it's 'diagonal', meaning that the mount holes are on the corners rather than sides. It looks like it will still hold the engine properly, as the holes are in the right spot. I will try to put it in and see if it works.

I looked up the part # (URO 123 241 5013 vs 3013 which was the 'correct' one), and it seems to be meant for a 1991 300SEL. I think that's the same body and so I was wondering if there would be anything problems trying to use it on my 83 300SD, if there are no mounting/bolting issues? It looks identical other than the top being at a 45 degree angle. Still same holes, same size, etc.

Thanks!

Some motor mount characteristics cannot be discerned visually. I would not be installing an incorrect part because some parts vendor can't get his act together.

X2

On the whole URO don't have the best reputation on this forum. I would only be fitting motor mounts in accordance with the FSM I don't go along with modifying parts that are meant to fit.

Well luckily the passenger side motor mount is still in tact, so I will use the proper motor mount on the driver's side (the one that is smashed to bits) for now. Customer Service will be sending me a new one and at that point I can install the passenger side one.

if it were me, I'd ask for a refund, then click hereand ask phil for the best deal on the best motor mounts, (and you might want to change the shocks too)
