$30 was wrong, it was actually $42.

Got it. Yep, I see 126 827 00 01 listed for ~$40 from several aftermarket vendors, for the Hirschmann mast.

Current dealer list is $54, wholesale is $45.

my car has this and Im using a uro mast which I oil every fill up. Its still clean and shiny. The original hirschmann mast has a wire that goes to the topmost metal tip piece of the antenna. The URO does not have this wire as the tip part is also plastic.

My antenna was a dead case, I sourced a controller board (odd design on this model) - new MB grommets and URO mast. I'll try an original mast when this one goes bad.

If you buy the knock off cell antenna with the black plastic mast end, the top third of the mast does nothing to enhance reception.

At the very top, on the little "ball", you will see a bit of metal in the center. This indicates that the top third of the mast has a metal core that will receive the radio signal. If the top ball is all black, you have the cheapo antenna mast and it's reception tends to be poor.
