Glow Plug Relay Interchangeability
My 78 240D has a glow plug relay with part # 001 545 22 32. I pulled one from a early 5 cylinder at a pick n pull with part # 001 545 35 32. The 22 and 35 are the only difference. These should be interchanged with no problems right? I can't find the p/n with the 35 online anywhere.

Your current relay is compatible with a '78 300D. Sounds like you're golden.

Swapped your 4 Cyl OM616 for a 5 cyl OM617 ???
Otherwise the 5 Cyl Pre-Glow Relay will not be happy in it's New Home.

I haven't swapped anything, just grabbed it for an extra. Wanted to test it but I didn't want to just plug it in and fry something.

with loop style plugs, there really isn't anything to fry. if anything, the 5 cylinder relay would be stronger, so it would last longer.
