I have a block for sale from a 76 300d. Is it the same as in the 81? I am afraid some of the mounting holes might be different. AC brackets, etc?

Isn't the oil filter in a different location on a 76?

Yes, the oil filter points down and mounts ahead of the engine support arm. The oil pan bolt pattern is different too... so I'm told.
