78 300D Engine/Trans Clamp
There is a clamp just behind the oilpan that has a tang that gets clamped to the transmission. It has 2 bolts with locknuts that clamp down on a formed bar over the tang. The nuts are loose, so I am thinking maybe there was a rubber piece in there that fell out. Or, the nuts ere simply loose and I need to tighten them. Does anyone know what the clamp does?

It's called the Anti-vibration T-mount amongst other names. In my opinion it's kind of useless. The rubber is quite flimsy even on a new one. It's only on the early models. I replaced mine and notice no change in engine vibration.
