96 e300d both radiator hoses soft at temp.

Hi Guys
Both radiator hose soft at temp. I thought it was thermostat I
removed it and hoses are still soft. At idle temp rises slowly pass 100
still no pressure. How can I check the cap? Thanks Guys

They make cap testers, but it's cheaper to just replace it. It's almost certainly the problem; if you were losing pressure anywhere else you'd have a leak. A bad thermostat will make the engine warm up slowly but will not prevent the system from pressurizing.

If you listen closely you *might* even hear the air wheezing out of the cap when you squeeze a hose.
