EGR on 300SDL
So - I was getting ZERO power up hills, tons of smoke, etc.
Disconnected at 62A, and seem to have way less smoke, and tons more power (wiggled the turbo too, which may have been stuck). Unfortunatly, I have lost my smooth shifting. I feel like this is an EGR thing - but I am humbly asking for help. Read that removing some emissions parts would be oK, and that vacuum lines can be plugged. OH - if i take this thing up to 3000 RPM+ - BLACK COAL BABY...would actually like to get rid of that if possible... Thanks in Advance. |

By simply unplugging a vacuum line, you are introducing a leak into the vacuum system. The transmission is controlled by vacuum. For my car (same engine more or less, not sure about the transmission), when I have a new leak, the shifts get harsher.
How's your air and fuel filters?
