Gauges went out on my 300SD

I lost my tach, speedo, temp and fuel gauges this evening as well as my turn signals. The dash lights, hazzards and clock still work. I checked the #12 fuse which I had to replace about 6 weeks ago, and it looked okay. Is there a ground wire I need to check that is affecting everything in the cluster but the lights and the clock? Thanks

A fuse that looks okay may not always be in good condition. I replaced it and got my gauges back.

The only other logical possibility is the mass of grounds behind the instrument cluster = restricted/difficult access unless the dashboard is removed.
