Advice on 1993 300d
Hi All,
I purchased a beautiful 300d about a year ago with the intention of putting a dual tank in it. I took it to the mechanic who found a bent frame. One of the tires is dragging and wearing down quickly. The car is realistically totalled. I have taken it to a body shop and sunk some money in in only to make it marginally better. I can buy a 190d 2.2 with a five speed locally. If I could put my engine (2.5 turbo) in the 190 frame, I might. My questions are: Will the 2.2 manual transmission handle/mate easily to the 2.5 turbo? Would the 2.5L engine and auto tranny bolt on? Is it too much trouble? Should I just wait for a reasonable W124? Thanks for your help, Andrew |

I would have to take a look at the 190d with manual to be able to offer any accurate guidance.
