240D clutch won't bleed.
 

240D clutch, been sitting for a couple months, checked on it and clutch is dry, won't disengage. Refilled reservoir, bled w/ mityvac (pulled fluid through w/ mityvac, then worked pedal w/ bleeder open) I get a little pressure at the pedal now, but won't disengage sufficiently to put it in gear when stopped.

Fluid came out pretty dark, IIRC.

How to bleed correctly?

Run a hose from the right brake caliper to the slave, open both bleeding valves, and use the brake pedal to bleed the system until no bubbles are seen at the master cylinder. Pump it for about 15 minutes slowly.

I recently had that problem with my 240D clutch. It would not bleed properly, but eventually I got it bled and pressured up. Shortly after that the slave cylinder failed completely. Put on a new slave cylinder, it bleed immediately and continues to work great. That slave cylinder is really at the bottom of the system and does collect a lot of junk. It must be bled properly at least once a year.

If the caliper trick doesn't work, do a search here. There are a million ways. It can be a real pain.
