Thanks guys

Some of you may remember that I had a tranny go out over the summer. I went ahead and put in a rebuilt without returning the core so I could rebuild that one.

I have put a few thousand miles on it and I must say that I am more in love with this car now than before.

Since the tranny change I also did the annual valve adj along with the fuel filters. I have put in a new mono valve, can't believe the difference that made. I had gone up to the white mountians and had a hell of a time getting heat. This time around had no problem at all. It seems the car runs a lot hotter now than before. I checked for leaks but nothing. Although I am going from 1300 ft to 6500 feet. By the way, small towns don't seem to know that there are forums on line with tons of info. (at least the small town I visit)

Next up will be the ac as summer is just around the corner. Anywho thanks for the great forum.

Thanks for the update Frankford. Please keep us informed on that tranny overhaul with words and pictures. I don't have an automatic anymore, both of mine are stick, but I love to read about you people going through them, as do most of the people on the Forum. Yes, it is to bad that so few Mercedes Owner know about this Forum. I'd say in my running around the north side of Indy each day, driving back and forth to our school bus parking area and on my small route of about 40 miles a day, plus the 40 in my Mercedes, that I probably pass 50 to 100 Mercedes. I often wonder if any of them have ever heard of the Forum. Probably not.

idler arm bearing replaced

Ok, had a little slop left and all that was left after changing the strut rods was the idler arm bearing.

It took all of 45 minutes and two dogs helping me. Major change in control of the wheel. No more slop in the steering wheel. The right blinker turns off after making a turn as the left side does now.
