Collecting old new parts,,

Got these to day for the 87 300 SDL,, the parts are from a 87 300 E turbo diesel so he said,, sat 5 years underground parking lot, 110,000 miles etc,,,
the trans is a 722.317,, should FIT ? and is there any up grades I can do before installing,, was thinking about seals and filter and maybe the friction rings,, any thought ??? the head looks like a 14 or ? not sure,,

The trans is not plug and play for your W126.

uhmmmm

looks like I am going to have to get diagrams of the 2 trannies,, and figure out if the sub components are transferable, from the 126 case to the 124 case,, or find a cluster panel that has a cable speedo,, with a working clock,, lol :} odds = nil .... are the 124 and 126 clusters the same ?,, or just use the good parts from the 124 tranny, and fix the 126 trans. what else can go wrong lol :} any one else who has been though this before ?????
