Cheap OIL Separator DIY

If you are bored with your best option - factory air hausing
or you have plunged OM617 in w126 coupe (so the housing is 6-7mm higher
than supposed and do jumps over hood insulation) you can EASILY
make your own from existing

(well, if you really wish COLD air intake best option is to find filter with
metal housing and plug it to the "nose" of the car...)

take the old housing off and rip off old oil separator

find a suitable can (stainless if possible) measure the position in the car
and height of the can accordingly.

cut the can so you will have two "ears" on which you will sink the old sep.
flat the edge or regret latter

to collect oil properly you have to cone a can a bit, I did it with small pipe
(while punching that one bellow was another pipe with bigger diameter)

.

It is metal housing with coned filter inside
(different diameters are available and no oil is needed)

so it is real cold air intake,..most similar to factory setup
that I had to remove in due engine height difference.

it will not improve any perfomance but will override air housing issue

company is called sprintfilter and are based in Italy,... I don't
think they have representative in US .. mine was gift, but I don't
think they are cheap ....

Yes it appears to be what's on his car. Wow what a catalogue. Very nice stuff.

No prices listed but I don't need to ask....
