I'm being tempted again. I really don't need another car but this seems to be really tempting. No rust, white on blue MB tex. Daily driver for the past 2 years.

I might get it just to flip. No pictures just yet.

Maybe I'll buy it, fix it up a little and sell it to one of you guy up north for a little profit.

This winter has been a warm one for us here in the south. Weekend wrenching is still possible outside. This sounds like a fun project.

I Remember my first cheap mercedes , a 79 300td ,thats when I realized what a robust mechanical dynamo the BRAND MADE FOR themselves.It had 380k showing which the seller stated was some 5 yrs ago when the odo gave out .It took another 60k after I decided to sell and it was still going firing up strong.Total miles on that old car had to be 500k.

If it IS a wagon and for $500 you can't go wrong. You could almost make that much selling the SLS stuff, and the wagon tail lights, reverse lights, wiper motor and other such wagon parts.

I recently missed a Euro 240TD for $400. I was bummed.

Found it.... 1985 Mercedes Benz 300TD ~ but it says $600 and "tomorrow" [when they promised to post photos] was 4 days ago.

I bet it's just another misleading ad where TD = turbo diesel sedan ~ not a wagon

$500 is a deal either way but I'd like a wagon, I've already got a TD

just a guess but I would put money on it being a D... and the guys adding the T for Turbo...

It IS a sedan with PO not knowing how to name these.
Still a worthwhile driver/project at that price.

I'd be happy to look it over if anyone is seriously looking.

I just bought an 85SD for $500 hoping to use it for parts. Some of the parts I need are no good but the car is too good to part. That means another project. Perhaps it will be finished by the time my 10 yr old learns to drive.

85SD 240K & stopped counting painted, putting bac together. 84SD 180,000. sold to a neighbor and member here but I forget his handle. The 84 is much improved from when I had it. 85TD beginning to repair to DD status. Lots of stuff to do.
