Contact Box
Hi All,
I am trying to diagnose some problems with my new 1992 300d. The Mercedes manual calls for a Contact Box (MB # 124 589 00 21 00) to connect to certain plugs (the SRS system in this case). Can I do this without the box? Is it wired so that pin 1 on the plug is pin 1 on the Contact Box? Has anyone made one or a reasonable copy? Thanks so much, Andrew Moore |
Check towards the bottom of this page - K6JRF Auto Page You might be able to fabricate the switch and LED device used to read fault codes.
If you're diagnosing an SRS light in a 92 300D, start with cleaning the contacts in the slip ring between the steering column and steering wheel. The contacts on the column are the cluster on to the upper right - http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/a...h/IMG_2807.jpg The contact set can be replaced as this assembly with blue sleeved wires and red locking connector - http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/a...h/IMG_2797.jpg Sixto 87 300D |
You are the man! It was unplugged!
Just for reference, it was showing SRS codes:3,5,6,8. Thanks. |
