cruise control amp interchange 123/126? - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

I note that both seem to take identical 14 pin plugs. Will the cruise control amp from the 123 work in a 126 body?

I need one in my 85 300sd and have one in various 123 body cars here.

Do a parts search at Germanstar.net. It will confirm one way or the other.

Check EPC. You can do a search on the part number and it will show you what models it was installed it.

I doubt they are different.

I believe it will as the only difference is that 123 gets its signal from the speedometer pickup and the 126 has an electric speedometer also there is a resistor pack next to the amp plugin

The resistor pack is on the 86+ cars.

I have experienced issues swapping these between 126's let alone a 123. I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Fastlane shows different part numbers and different prices but the plug looks to be the same. Using computers as an analogy if the plug is the same the part should be interchangible.

Are you referring to the coding plug? The purpose of the coding plug, as I understand it, is to enable the same generic amp to be used in a variety of different applications. Conceivably, two plugs could be the same but the amps themselves different.

I refer to the plug in for the amp device which has 14 pins.
