Autozone sale on Mobil 1

29.99 for 5 quarts and a filter. I got the 0w-40 euro formula. Seems a good deal for full synthetic.

I bet the deal is ONLY on Mobil1 filters... and they don't make a 603 filter... heck, I don't think AZ even carries a OM filter...

Yeah. They have an STP in the MB filters and they gave me one of those. The offer is for "bosch" filter but its than bosch i guess so they didn't balk. What i try to do is get the most expensive filter I can as the freebie Also they gave me a mobil one filter for the VW since they didn't have a bosch. Your supposed to pay 4.00 more if you want a mobil one filte.

Are Mobil 1 filters better? This oil says something like lasts 15,000 miles on the bottle.

Been using Mobil-1 in the Acura, along with a M-1 filter. I still can't get used to a car oil filter being the same size as the one on my lawn mower!!
It's not like I'll ever know how well the oil and filter are working, but it seems prudent......
Walmart usually has the 5 gallon jug of Mobile-1 for $24 bucks or so.....

Jimmy, how do you like the Acura so far? I hear they're an absolute pleasure to drive. Do you miss looking at the hood star at all?

It's hands down the best car I've ever owned!
I'm not coming at this from the standpoint of trashing old MB's. It is just that after driving this car for a year and just short of 30K miles, I just have no desire for the primitive nature of any car. I like satellite radio and nav. (built in) I like my bottom warmed in cold weather. I love memory stuff and 6 CD's. I like getting 25-28mpg in the city, yet being able to blister the pavement when necessary.
I love getting under the hood twice every 6000 miles. Once at about 3000 to verify it hasn't burned any oil, then the second time at 6000 to change the oil.
I hate the torque steer, but I drove this car on basically solid sheet ice last winter and the front wheel drive made it a breeze. Wish it had rear wheel drive though. Who wouldn't.
And I really like the

I would have no problems driving another '95 OM606. But it would have to be near perfect, like the Batmobile was.
W123's are dead to me......
And folks always talk about the car payment. I don't have one. But folks with car payments usually also have a warranty. A nice trade off.
I'm just not nickled and dimed with all the little stuff that was ALWAYS breaking. Yall know the drill......
If the Acura only klacked!! But then again, if it did, it would not be good news!!

I love new cars too! I just hate letting them die slow(sun fade) in the parking lot at work. So a trashed out MB solves that problem and lets me keep the F-350 in the shop with low miles and no smashed up fenders. I had been moved to a new location at work and drove my truck to keep the battery and seals good. Of course a motorhome backs into it causing 3k in damage in the new parking lot. The truck literally did not have a scratch in it with 25k on a 2006 King Ranch F-350DRW 4x4. This was last year and now I have another benz nickel and diming me. Oh! some other good things about the old car are you can sneek around and nobody knows or cares to know who you are. That can be very usefull at times until the hot girl pulls up next to you! OH WELL.

As far as the oil are you saying 5 gallons or qts for $24?

I found a mail order place in AZ that sells Total Synthetic and Moly Lube synthetic for $33-$37 for 5 liters which is 1.3 gallons with free delivery if you buy more than $50 from them. The price is OK but UPS to my front door is what I like.

I think I'll jump on that. Lubro Moly 5w40 in a 5L jug at Napa (the only place that carries it around here) is now $50!

Sale on Mobile 1

I took advantage of the sale and they threw an STP filter in on the deal but I still had to pay $4 bucks extra because I was told the sale was for the regular synthentic I did not know they make 3 differant kinds of synthetics you can tell by the color of the cap green is high mpg oil which I think comes in 0-30 wgt very thin which is how you get the high MPG's but also more oil leaks, regular silver cap which is what the sale is for, and gold cap which is the extended performance oil which is the one you should be able to leave in the longest without changeing. I balked a little at having to pay $4 extra but since they threw the filter in figured I'd call it a day.At that price I figure your getting the oil for about $5/qt. which is'nt bad but I have seen it cheaper at K-mart already about $4 something / qt. I do not know why but oil has really shot up in price recently I guess just another way big oil can make more record profits.

How long does the sale go on for? Is it in all states?
I am in Canada, but will be in SC next week.

Last time I bought 0-40 on sale at Autozone, they didn't have any filter that would fit our E320 or 300D, so I said I didn't want a filter. They told me they couldn't sell me the oil UNLESS I took a filter. So I took one that would fit my son's car. I needed 8l, so had to pay full price for the extra 3! Maybe should have got 10 and 2 filters!

I use 0-40 in our E320, but in the 300D I use 15W50 or 5W50 if I can get it, but last time used 10W40 Truck & Diesel which has higher ZDDP than the 0W40 and 5W40 recommended for modern benzes.
