New wiper problem

I have a new to me problem, frequently when i t turn on the key switch my wipers will start wiping! The wiper switch is in the off position and otherwise seems to work OK on hi speed or low speed, but does not do intermittent or off. Most times when i fiddle with the switch they will shut off but today it would not stop until i took out the #3 fuse.According to the fuse label in the fuse box lid fuse #2 should have stopped it but did not.I hope someone has a clue for me,it will be a few days before i can get to work on this can anyone help? Don
P.S. this is on the 1991 300d 2.5

Your wiper

Your wiper was under-loved as a child, and is now an over-achiever?

I don't know. Fuse problem? More likely some wire is messed up somewhere. It's supposed to be in the off position, but it's not, so it's within the switch, I guess.

Sounds like it's time for a new combination switch.

Probably the switch

See if you can't somehow fix the switch. Probably a $2 problem.
