front water leaks e124

Ok I'm finally getting serious about fixing the water leaks on my '92 300d

First thing I did was make sure both ends of the rain gutter at the bottom of the front window were in the drain tubes. One was not. That did seem to improve the situation

do the front sunroof drain holes go into a tube in the body? If so how do I fix this other than fishing another tube and hooking it up to the down spout with the gutter? or do they just channel down the windshield?

Also where are the climate control airbox drains? are they accessable without opening up the box?

Any other ideas to fix front compartment leaks or a good link.

Thanks

The sunroof drains go down a tube and exit in the gap where the front door opens. You should be able to run a string trimmer line or other similar fish down the drain lines and see it come out.

The drains at either side of the windshield are very easy to get clogged if you park near trees. I had to really work at them to get them open on my cars. If you work at it you can pull the "funnel" loose from the top of each side and then get better access to the drain tube below, which you can then root out.

I had a bad leak into the driver's footwell caused by a plugged drain which drains just behind the front wheel under the flat part of the floor pan, not in the wheel well itself. The drain has a rubber snout with a small hole which gets plugged and you can poke something up there.

I don't know where that drains from, however!

Ok that makes sense based on what I saw when I ran a line in there.

Thank you very much for that info!
