replacement of reverse light switch...
Hi:
I've found my reverse light switch (part # A000 545 42) and I'm thinking it is probably the source of my failed reverse lights. I have some questions, though, if any of you are feeling kind: 1. How can I test my replacement (off a parts car) while going to the least trouble possible (the wiring is pretty shot on the parts car). 2. The wiring entering the switch appeared to be in good enough shape, but the cover was partially unsnapped, so it would have been exposed to moisture for sure. Is it possible to clean and recondition this with some type of spray? 3. What is the best way to be certain that the switch has failed? Thanks in advance, Bradley |

What car? Part number seems to be missing 2 digits.
Get a wiring diagram and test continuity through the pins. Sixto 87 300D |

Sorry, the part number is A000 545 42 06. It's a 1980 300td.
