Sorry, still learning the rules.

Yeah! That one.

He did just about everything I would like to do to mine. Except maybe the Euro lights. . . .

It is interesting but probably a bit too customized. I would think most buyers for low mileage W123's would be looking for originality. A bit high on the price, and on the second listing.

Its a nice car, but I smell bondo. Not worth 25K by any means in my opinion.

Look under the headlights, the factory seem has been filled in, as well as the screws that hold the metal piece under the bumper are covered over and there is no joint between the fenders and the center trim piece.

But in the description he notes that it has been welded in for aesthetic reasons.

In the description the seller mentions all of these details and specifies that he requested they be "filled in". But he also mentions that the seam and the fender has be welded.

So while the car may be worth $25k in parts, energy and time I wouldn't want to spend more than $7k on it. And then get it back to being a 1980s MB instead of a tinted window, rich idiot's toy.

That seam welding is a pretty interesting idea, I think it looks great like that, surprised more people haven't done that.

Price is unrealisitic, bet you he can get 7-10 grand for it, but 25 is not gonna happen. The guy who spends that kind of money on a MB is a concours guy and won't like the cusomization, the guy who wants the cool car he has built would not spend that much money, and probably build it themselves instead for half the price.

Tough sale at that price.

From reading that description, it sounds like the guy deliberately went out of his way to spend the most amount of money he could, and then talks about how everything is MB original parts on what really is a custom car. Its a weird mix. I love custom cars, and im not interested in everything being MB original parts, hes trying to sell something that people who love custom cars would want at concours price, and advertised towards concours with all the MB parts, who would be turned off anyway because the factory did not produce that car.

Hes got two markets, and is shooting right down between them, missing both. Too expensive and too custom.

Beautiful car though!

If I were going to have my car repainted, I too would give that some thought. The seams don't particularly bother me as they are now, but that really does look nice and clean.
