Where should I begin looking to find out where the front end is squeaking on 94 S350
Where should I begin looking to find out where the front end is squeaking on 94 S350. I purchased this car a week or so ago and I cant believe in that time it has gotten noticeably more noisy than the day I purchased it. Are there certain bushing more susceptible to these squeaks? Thanks

When is it squeaking? Just driving, going over bumps, or when turning. Swaybar bushings can squeak if they are worn out.

Are the shocks worn? Lower control arm bushings can wear prematurely if soaked in engine oil or fuel.

I don't know your car, but the upper ball joints on my '97 E developed a very loud squeak. They were not sloppy so I lubed them with a grease needle through the rubber boot. It took a few days for the lube to get up into the joint but they are totally quiet now. I understand that lower ball joints can also squeak. If you can hold your hand on each ball joint while someone bounces the front end, you should be able to feel the squeaking one vibrating, if it is a ball joint.

The car squeaks all the time, the shocks seem pretty tight. I'll get a buddy this weekend to help me narrow down where the noise is coming from. Thanks again

Have a look at this thread about failing ball joints.
WARNING: Failed Ball Joints - 190 Revolution One of the lower ball joints on my SL 320 was fully rusted and very noisy due to a failed boot. |
