fuel filter preference

I just replaced my primary and secondary fuel filters. The difference in performance now is amazing, no more surging above 70 or going up 6% grades. The only concern I have is that I replaced the spin-on with a NAPA, which is what was on there before. Should I have used an OEM filter such a Hengst or MANN? How do these filters work anyway? Do some allow greater fuel flow?

Hengst, Mann, Bosch, it's all good. I like to switch it up everytime I change them just for the hell of it.

Filtration is most likely the same

Greetings,

I'd say the filtration from one to the next is probably the same as they follow a given spen for diesel filtration when they design the filter. Napa isn't the original manufacturer of their filter anyway. I'd say that if you look at Fastlane that their filter was probably cheaper, whether you go with Mann's or Hengst. Order up on oil filters and other consumables to keep shipping down. Besides, it also helps support this site.

Charles

FWIW

Napa filters are most likely made by WIX. WIX is the best american manufacturer by far and you should be just fine with any NAPA filter.

I agree with Charles that you should purchase stuff from Fast Lane to help support this amazing site.

I found, even after the exchange rate, the filters from Fastlane were a good deal. Although, I didn't have to pay duty at the border as I had a friend bring them back to Canada for me. As TXBill suggested, I too was also impressed by the quality & packaging of the Mann products.
