w201D vacuum pump leak

Hello,

I have an oil leak at the vacuum pump in my car (OM601.911).

At first I thought I would fix it by simply replacing the gasket, but upon closer inspection I noticed the oil is not coming out from the area where the pump meets the flange surface, but somewhere higher up. I have shown the suspect area in the photo.
Otherwise the car works perfect. There is no lack of vacuum.

Have you had this type of leak in your cars? Can it be fixed without replacing the whole pump?

Thanks in advance
gonzalo
